Frequently Asked Questions
Are you currently offering scholarships?
Not yet — but we’re laying the foundation.

The Center for Affordable Jewish Education (CAJE) is a Delaware-based nonprofit preparing to become one of the first certified Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs) under the upcoming federal National School Choice program, expected to launch in 2027.
What is the National School Choice Program?
The National School Choice Program is a forthcoming federal initiative, expected to launch in 2027, that will provide tax credits to individuals and businesses who donate to certified Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs). These SGOs, like CAJE, will use those funds to provide tuition assistance to eligible K–12 students attending private schools—including Jewish day schools.
Our goal is to be among the first approved SGOs in the nation when the program goes live.
What makes CAJE different from other education nonprofits?
Unlike general education foundations, CAJE is laser-focused on affordable Jewish day school education. We are purpose-built to leverage the upcoming federal tax credit system to support Jewish families directly and transparently. We also allow donors to recommend specific schools or communities they want to support.
We’re not just another nonprofit—we’re a strategic solution for Jewish continuity.
Can I recommend a specific school or region for my donation?
Yes, donors may recommend a specific school or region when making their contribution. While we cannot guarantee placement, CAJE will take donor intent into account when distributing scholarships—consistent with our internal policies and applicable regulations.
What can I do now to help?
Spread the word. Join our mailing list. Become a founding donor.
We’re building the foundation now so that Jewish families across the country will be ready when the opportunity arrives. Every early supporter helps us grow faster and serve more students the moment we’re approved.
How will donations be used?
Our top priority is ensuring that donations directly benefit Jewish students. The vast majority of contributions will support scholarships for K–12 students attending accredited Jewish day schools.
As we build our operations, a modest portion of funds will help cover essential administrative costs—like compliance, staff, and outreach—so we can scale with integrity and impact. We are committed to transparency, and all donors will receive prompt receipts and updates.
Once the federal program launches, eligible contributions made to our scholarship fund will qualify for a 100% federal tax credit.
Will I get a tax benefit for donating?
Currently, donations to CAJE are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, as we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Once the federal program launches, eligible contributions will qualify for a 100% dollar-for-dollar federal tax credit—an even more powerful way to give.
Why should I donate now if the program doesn’t start until 2027?
Your early support helps us build the infrastructure needed to serve families on day one of the federal program. By donating now, you’re helping us prepare to deliver scholarships the moment we’re authorized—and ensuring no Jewish child is left behind when the program opens.
